UX/UI copy
Helping behind the screen
As part of the Microsoft UX design team, I worked with designers to create copy for Windows Phone and Microsoft’s feature phones. I made sure the apps and settings were easy to understand, instructional, and supportive, and had a friendly and on-brand tone of voice. I was also responsible for placing the copy into the implementation and translation CMS, and supporting localization. Below you can find actual screens from Lumia phones showing the microcopy I wrote.
Gadgets app copy—Microsoft Lumi phones
This was an app to connect bluetooth accessories to Lumia phones. The intent was to create copy that was instructive, yet light.

Glance screen settings copy—Microsoft Lumia phones
It’s not perhaps the most glamorous copy to write, but it’s fundamental that the user understands exactly what each of these settings does to get the most out of their phones.
